Teachers: You are welcome to share this link with students and parents so they can access makeup lessons direct.
A student can complete makeup lessons if he or she misses a class. 75% seminary attendance is required each seminary term to earn credit.
Around the same amount of time as a class (for most classes 60 minutes).
If a student is doing a makeup lesson for a class missed this year (2026 Old Testament), have them do the lesson that was taught during the class he or she missed (e.g. Week 12.3 = Week 12, the third lesson taught).
If a student is completing a makeup lesson for classes missed in previous years (i.e. 2023 - 2025), he or she can complete any makeup work lesson from that year. We're not going to go back and see what lesson was taught on the day they missed in previous years.
Students should submit completed makeup lessons to their seminary teacher for review. If a teacher is satisfied that a completed makeup lesson reflects a student's reasonable effort (i.e. the same amount of time the missed class would have taken), the student can be marked as "Made-up Absence" in WISE for the class missed.
Students who complete high school early may complete institute classes for seminary credit - please discuss this with your Seminary & Institute Coordinator Brother Higgins or Brother Harrison.
Students are permitted to do makeup work up to one-year after completing high school. Students who begin their mission service during this one year extension period are allowed one year following their mission to complete makeup work.
